Bjorn the Fell-Handed

Bjorn the Fell-Handed was painted over two months. The color scheme and also his weapons were selected based on the Space Wolves Codex from 7. Edition. Sadly the sensor on his right arm was removed during the modeling process. However painting the wolf, dragon and Space Wolf, including all the Gold and Silver details was really funny. Up to this point I thought painting bigger models is easier, related to the fact that they tend to contain less small details. At least the Dreadnought from #DeathCompany was simpler to paint - not Bjorn.

Blackmane's Intercessors

First Primaris myself painted so far. Really similar to other Space Marines, see #TaticalSquad. This model was painted before the Space Wolves Codex from 8. Edition was released, so I need make some artistic decisions. First the position inside the pack: Is this model a Blood Claw, Grey Hunter or Wolf Guard? As Primaris fells like Rookies, he was clearly a Blood Claw. Second question: Which Great Company from the Space Wolves would take care of someone like him? Who could be better than the Young King? So I placed him in Ragnar Blackmanes Great Company and choose a red paw for his unit. Last decision was about the typical gold details for Space Wolves: How many? Where to place? And so on... For the first unit I just picked up the backpack. Still not sure about it, but for a Blood Claw it should be enough. Okay at least I need to paint 4 more of them.

Blackmane's Primaris Lone Wolf

This Primaris was delivered as some kind of special model with some magazine. Mostly related to the fancy base, with all these stones, symbols and so on. Anyway this was perfect as some kind of Lone Wolf or Wolf Guard Battle Leader. His shoulder pad wears a similar pack sign like Raegrecs Blades, mostly to support them if necessary.

Cultists

Models from Games Workshop contains often a lot of details. This is in fact really awesome, but it take times to paint them. A lot of time and often these painting process is more complex. So I decided to paint less detailed models, with just basic and fast technics. For this purpose the game Mansions of Madness is perfect. For beginning the Cultists models where chosen. Brown base paint, complete shading and dry brush at the end. Same goes for the basing.

Ghosts

Mansions of Madness second Edition contains two Ghosts. Really simple models with chains and basic cloths. One of the models were painted with silver chains, while the chains on the other model remains in same color like cloths. Basing was made in the same style like the Cultists.

Great Wolf's war banner

This banner act as an object marker for our skirmish games. It represent a Company banner for Logan Grimnars Great Company. The back of the banner displays a one as roman number, just to get count of it, during the gameplay. At least five more object markers like this one needs to be finish.

Kairic Acolytes

Kairic Acolytes are some kind of mixture between humans and birds. These models covert all over with muscles, just wearing some cloth. So they were really different compared to the Space Marines myself mostly painted. After I finished all these muscles with shading and layering, myself was really surprised: these cloths taking the same amount of time like all the muscles. So three of them are done... I believe the with the second Warhammer Quest game only 13 of them remaining...

Kurtha Seed's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Sigma

After Kurtha Seed's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Rho I switch to Squad Sigma. They are really similar to Squad Rho, except from their bases. The basic idea, while Squad Rho is running for their lives on the surface of Calth, Squad Sigma displays a unit which already reach the underground. As they are seems to be more experienced, their armor is way more lettered with signs and scriptures. Also their left shoulder pads are altered with silver bolts. These bolts can also be seen on their legs.

Lord of Plagues

This model was a present from my Brother Captain. The painting were oriented on Death Guard color theme. This model was deliverer with a square base, related to the world that was. However the already structured base looks quite good, so I glued it on an current round base and paste a lot of structured around it. Nowadays he serves as a Hero in #SilverTower.

Poxwalkers

One of the Poxwalkers from Dark Imperium boxset. During the painting process different approaches with shades were try. Maybe you notice the pustule in different colors.

RaegrecÂ’s Blades

Raegrecs Blades are eight Grey Hunters that were deployed at Alric Prime. Each of them is equipped with a different weapon, mostly different sorts of blades. Okay they are not according to the Codex rules, related to the Lore not really uncommon for the Space Wolves Chapter. Furthermore take a look at the different Details of this Unit. So one of them take the helmet of a Dark Angel after a duel as trophy. Another one declare one Chainaxe from his enemy for himself after skirmish. One of them is taking care of different tracks. According to their pack sign on their should pads, most of them got a Wolf with Blade in black color, except from their pack leader who is wearing just an red wolf.

Roboute Guilliman

Most annoying model painting so far... The model was sub assembly and blue was chosen as base color. Still not sure which base color is more comfortable to go: blue or gold. Blue basecoat means painting all gold details and at least I can tell you, that’s terrible annoying. Start with gold basecoat means painting all reassess blue, sounds also not easy. However painting these model in sub assembly makes a lot of things easier, except from the cables. The whole painting process takes round about six months. Mostly related to all the gold Details. First four months every other model on the palette was painted, before focusing on Roboute Guilliman himself.
